No, not an 8 channel, an 8 track. It's the only format a friend's first ever written song is saved on.

Unfortunately we don't have a lime green van to serve as prankstermobile to do this from.

A friend has an 8 channel still in shipping plastic, he's saving it for the time he expects to record. I tried to get him convinced he could steer the stuff your way on a rental basis to save his own production fees but he's well within range of home studio expenses at this time....
